Profile Picture Frames: Would you like to help spread the word about The True Meaning of Memorial Day? In the past, TMoMD created several appropriate Profile Picture “Frames” for social media. Unfortunately, Facebook has discontinued this feature (except for a few of their approved outlets), and so our advocacy efforts utilizing this avenue have been derailed.
People still ask us for the frames, so we will share them here.
Users will still have to find a way to add the frame to their profile pic, but there are plenty of apps out there which will “stack” images. Or, use a desktop program, such as Powerpoint or Keynote to overlap your profile pic with our frames.
Best Practices:
- Notice that the sample profile image features an image that is small enough to fit in the transparent circle
- Your point of interest needs to be right in the middle of your photo or the photo may not work
- We recommend that veterans select a picture of them wearing civilian clothes to help reduce confusion (Civilians sometimes see the uniform and automatically whip out a “Thanks for your service” without thinking. Let’s face it few people actually pay attention to details
- Facebook currently has round profile pictures, some of this won’t show on your profile picture thumbnail
- Consider adding a message when you upload your new profile picture encouraging people to support the TMoMD Efforts by liking, sharing, and commenting, or following the page
Here is an example.

Don’t Thank Me, I’m Not Dead Memorial Day Profile Frame
Well, the fact that we even have to vocalize this thought is pathetic but here we are. We have GOT to get the word across to those who “don’t get it.” And so if this speaks to you, we hope you’ll consider adding this graphic to your profile picture.
Special thanks to our friends at Mo Rucker for collaborating with us on this project.
